On December 30th, Girls’ Generation attended KBS “Gayo Daechukje”, the end of the year show for the network.
In the introduction of all the artists, which resembled entries of teams at a sporting event, Girls’ Generation came out first, dressed in the black and silver outfits they wore during their Christmas special. All of the artists had large banners with their names on them, and Girls’ Generation had a ribbon on theirs representing the girls’ award from the Korea Pop Culture Awards.
Later during the show, Girls’ Generation performed the song “Festival” as part of a medley of performances honoring the songs of Uhm Jung Hwa. The girls were bright and cute with shorts and white t-shirts, reminiscent of their “Gee” days. Fans clearly loved the happy performance, as “SNSD – Festival” trended second worldwide on Twitter.
Having already shown they can pull off a cute performance with ease, they dialed up the sexiness with their performance of “The Boys”. The girls started all sitting down in wedding style dresses, but then as the music started they got up and tore the bottoms off to reveal sexy white outfits. They went straight into a remixed dance intro that caught everyone’s attention before they settled into “The Boys”.

They are too darn adorable in the top pic, they pulled it off naturally. Both performances were awesome but the Festival one was so so short I wanted more. They look so elegant in their white gowns and then they turn all sexy goddesses when they ripped the gowns off ><. ONLY SNSD can shock me like that lol. Good job ladies, well done. Every time I see other girl groups dancing in lingerie like clothes and dance provocative moves, I thank god when I see snsd, cause they not change for anybody. They don’t need to use their skin to attract an audience. Watched the show, and they got a larger applause than any other girl group, cause they were themselves
I was expecting just another performance of The Boys and was very pleasantly surprised. The girls (especially Sunny) all looked spectacular, the outfits were lovely and different, they actually sang the whole thing and the mic levels were almost correct for a change, and Sooyoung flawlessly stuck the landing on the difficult and seldom seen wink-double hair flip-wink combo . Aside from a little mic noise at the beginning and oddly enough Taeyeon not really sounding up to her usual high standards, I’d say it had to be one of the best live performances of the song ever.

we always see them smiling during their performances, but
these seemed a bit more genuine. i’m glad they had fun!!!
and the remix of the boys was great. they always find little
ways of adding a new spin to the song. it is going to be really
hard for that song to get old! HAHA!
