[DVD] 2011 Girls' Generation Tour

21 July 2014 - 12:22 AM

This concert DVD turned me from a fan to a sone but it's not perfect

Where do i start ... I think I'll start with the Cons to end on a good note

The song selection for the non SNSD songs is very hit or miss .... Danny Boy , Sway ,If and Almost blended into the rest of the playlist perfectly and almost sounded like SNSD own songs but Lady Marmalade and Three stuck out like a sore thumb

If SNSD was about this wholesome and pure image .... why have songs about very adult subject matter ... i'm not a prude and they were sung well ... It just took me out of the immersion of the whole SNSD experience .. those 2 song would have been better on the Girls & Peace tour DVD where the playlist was more mature/sexy in theme

The worse song/spot was the whole Don't Stop The Music / Hyoyeon dance number .... I understand wanting to show off Hyoyeon's dance skills ... but couldn't they do it to one of there own songs .. it was just awful

Now the Pros

I stated that this DVD turned me into a sone and here is why ... I didn't get the difference between " fan " and "sone " for the first 4 or 5 months of being a member of Soshi .. with fans saying the girls are more human then most artist , they are down to earth , they are humble and on and on ... i was seriously mocking the sones at the time ... i just didn't get it

This DVD changed my way of thinking ... The Music ( Well good ) is not what makes this DVD great ... This DVD is all about the Relationship between the fans and SNSD ( When Jessica broke down in tears and the end of complete and all the girls stayed teary eye for the next 2 songs after that was honestly the best SNSD moment for me )

So i can go into Audio , Video and all that jazz ... but really that stuff doesn't matter with this DVD

This tour DVD is like a documentary of the relationship between Sones and SNSD and it's great

If your looking for the best of SNSD musically get the Girls and Peace DVD tour .... there is alot of non SNSD songs on here that sometimes seem outta place with the theme they were going for at the time

If your willing to overlook the flaws in the playlist ... then you will find no greater example of the Sone / SNSD Relationship

[SONG] Mistake

10 February 2014 - 04:40 PM

Mistake the K-pop Country song ??

I was raised a Country Boy growing up .... Garth Brooks / Dwight Youkum / Dixie Chicks if it had twang i listened to it ... and when i was old enough to understand lyric and songwriting of a song I fell in love with the heartbreak songs

Then well my own personal heartbreaks happened ... i lived the heartbreak songs

But of course Country turned pop and much more family friendly and the heartbreak song all but died out ....

So what does this have to do with SNSD and Mistake ..... It's what i want Country music to be again

Let me explain

For you older sones who dealt with a broken heart , Did you ever wanna just sit and feel sorry for yourself ?? Wonder why you made a Mistake of putting your heart out there just to have it stomped on ?? Then to turn on the radio to hear crappy love songs or dance songs ??

Mistake to me is that missing country song i need in those times ... it just so happens to be sung in Korean by a k-pop group ... WTF??

How Do i even Review a song that in it's Songwriting is very sad, depressing and maybe even dark ... there isn't a happy ending to the song ... and for such a happy upbeat girl ( Yuri ) to even write a song like this blows my mind

So to me it's about loving someone who doesn't love you back if you look at the last part of the song

I knew I couldn’t have you but my love for you just kept growing
It’s my mistake for waiting by myself, regretting by myself, loving you by myself

Even though my heart was aching, it’s my mistake for not letting you go (I’m such a fool)
I knew I would get hurt and couldn’t let go (It’s my mistake)
Even though it's all my fault
Even though it's all my fault
That’s ok. As long as you’re there (Always…)

Please forgive me for being like this
(forgive the person) Who loved you

And It's Amazing how a group of young happy girls who mostly sing about first love , togetherness ,cute fun dance songs ... Tackled something so sad and serious with such grace , beauty and maturity beyond their years

The vocals from every single member is perfect ... they delivered the emotion needed to sell the heartache in the song ... the best song vocally from the members as a group

This is the SNSD i fell in love with ... This is ( well not my favorite SNSD song ) SNSD at their very best ... This Is the best SNSD song ( of course in my opinion )

[ALBUM] Girls' Generation

09 February 2014 - 03:22 AM

Before I begin I wanna say I know nothing about K-pop or music in general besides being a fan , this review is just my opinion and should not be taking as fact

I am a Person ( before Sept of 2012 ) who hated what American pop music became , So why the hell would i give K -pop a Chance , I mean Psy is the best Korea got, What could a group 9 cute girls do that would pull me in ...

Welcome to my review of  SNSD's First Album aka The Pink Album

This Album is not the most polished , there are better produced SNSD albums with better songs that I enjoy more but without a doubt this is the best SNSD album so far

What makes this album so great to me is simply the rawness and the heart the girls showed on this album , this album has all 9 girls at their best ( you know before the singing line took over most of the vocals )

Even Yoona and Hyoyeon sound amazing on here

And the Song selection is top notch , the way each song on the album flows without screwing up the vibe the album has its amazing

there is no song on this album the feels out of place , with fun dance songs ( Kissing You , Girls Generation , Oh La La ) , Heart Warming Ballads ( Complete , Tears ) and one of the most uplifting and inspiring songs i ever heard ( Into The New World )

This review is not for the hardcore sones ... cause they own this album already ... This is for the new sones or the people who is curious what SNSD is about if your willing to give SNSD a chance you wont go wrong with this album

This Album is simply the best overall collection of SNSD songs ( well without getting a concert CD )  , and the girls at their best as a group of 9
