[090904] SM TOWN 2010

05 September 2010 - 06:36 PM

WARNING: This fan account does not include shaking/ touching ANY of the artists' hands, getting floor seats for 40$ (seriously wtf...you know who you are), or going backstage.

It all started Saturday morning at 8am. I woke up eager to begin my day, quickly eating stale cereal and taking a shower. By 8:30, I was ready to with my three friends in our epic mini-van with a broken door. The door closed. The ipod lit up, the kpop resonated throughout the van. Our journey to SM town 2010 had begun. We rumbled across the land, BigBang, 4Minute, and Taeyang keeping us company along the way (we refused to listen to SM artists prior).

Finally, after navigating fierce one way roads and making illegal left turns, we had arrived. The enormous Staples Center loomed in front of us. We found parking. As I disembarked our mini-van, I looked to my left and to my surprise I saw....the ghetto, with signs in Spanish and rummage sales on street corners as far as the eye could see, it was truly majestic. We heard our stomachs rumbling, so we hurriedly made our way into a sandwich joint. I felt the warm turkey and bacon slither down my throat, satisfaction in every bite. After our lunch, we made our way to the convention center. As we fumbled our way around looking for room 515, we finally came across an enormous group of asians wearing pink. Welcome home.

The meeting was incredible, standing in line doesn't get any better. At long last, we reached the door! As we stepped into the smaller than expected room, we took a picture underneath the banner of my favorite 9 women. And on it went, from catching glowsticks to watching grown men do womens choreography to snatching as many star cards off a table as possible (I GOT A YURI!). It was time to head to the Koreaboo meet. Once again, we fumbled around until we finally found the room. We arrived looking like just another group of asians and one white kid (me), but we were far from ordinary. My good friend Angky took the room by storm, winning first place in the singing competition with I Need a Girl by Taeyang (Yes ladies, he's single!).

At long last, the moment we had all waited for for so long was fast approaching: SM TOWN LIVE 2010 IN LOS ANGELES! Nothing prepares you more for a concert than crazed SuJu fangirls screaming at security guards from outside thinking they were group members. Once again, we waited in line. Nervous, I approached the security checkpoint, but forgot to take out my metal items! BEEP "crap thats my belt" BEEP "dangit theres my keys" BEEP "hehe, thats just my shirt battery" BEEP "WHAT NOW?". Alas, we finally made it through and found our way to our seats, section 108 behind the pink ocean; how I envied those that got to be a part of it. The concert began. I screamed for members I knew well. Finally, I knew the nine girls that were making their way onstage under the cover of darkness, THIS WAS IT! SNSD, in all their glory, before me in the same room, what a feeling. They performed amazingly, although I'm not sure any devil would want to run from them, or be able to for that matter. I shouted at the top of my lungs to my dream woman "KWON YURI SARANGHAE" but she was all the way across the room, no way she could hear me. BUT WAIT! SHE WAS MAKING HER WAY TOWARDS OUR END OF THE ROOM!!!!!! HERE SHE IS, time to let this gift from above know what she means to me! I opened my mouth, prepared to give the shout of all shouts to my lovely Kwon Yuri. I took a breath and made final preparations. I felt the air rush out of my lungs, but to my surprised, all I could do was squeak and make hoarse sounds! I had lost my cheering voice at the least opportune moment! Thinking horse sounds aren't the best way to tell your dream girl how you feel, I gave up and rapidly waved my glowstick trying to secure her attention for only a second. No luck, the concert proved too much, and our eyes never did meet :crybaby: . The concert went on, with repeated attempts to get SNSD's attention from my little corner of the center.

FINALLY! HyoYeon right in front of me, it was so real I felt like I could ACTUALLY touch her. I waved my glowstick with all the strength left in my arm, and amazingly she turned and waved RIGHT at me. Who knows who that wave actually was to, but it was enough to make my heart fly. It may not have been Yuri, but hopefully one SNSD member at least knows I exist. I was content as I could be knowing I wouldn't get Yuri's attention, even though I will forever envy those on the floor that shook her hand as she ran by. The night ended, and I wish it wouldn't. Those last moments with all artists on the stage I never wanted to end, I wanted them to remain there forever, and I so badly wanted to vault out of my seat and go up and hug each and every one of them (except SuJu, not hating though). The night did end, however, and I hopped back in our mini-van eagerly awaiting SM town Los Angeles ??' so that I would once again have a chance to let Kwon Yuri know there is a man whos whole heart yearns day after day for her.

Thus ends my fan account. If you actually read all of it, then thank you! LOL

I shall always love you my lovely 9 angels.
