On February 11th, Seohyun sang with the North Korean Samjiyon orchestra at the National Theater of Korea in Seoul. Her appearance was part of a special performance for the Winter Olympics, currently ongoing, and the Paralympics, which will take place in March — both in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Seohyun was only invited to perform on the day of the event and was not provided much detail; nevertheless, she accepted the request and took to the stage that same evening.

Seohyun was also a guest in the presidential box at the Olympics opening ceremony — one of 1,550 selected, including “state officials, the mayor of Seoul, representatives of international organisations, reunification organisations, foreign affairs ministry, leaders of industry and culturally-important artists”.
