Yoona has been cast as the lead female role in an upcoming Chinese drama, “God of War Zhao Yun”. The 60-episode drama is about the hero Zhao Yun, whose life is dramatized in the historical novel “Romance of the Three Kingdoms”. It will consist of war, love, and development of characters set in the latter part of the Han Dynasty.
Yoona will play the heroine of the story, Xiahou Qing Yi, and will be working alongside actor Lin Gengxin, who will play Zhao Yun, one of the Five Tiger Generals under Liu Bei. In the story, Xiahou Qing Yi falls in love with Zhao Yun, but later discovers that he had killed her father.
Shooting for “God of War Zhao Yun” is set to begin next month, and the drama will begin airing in August on Hunan TV.

What happened to the drama she left for nodame cantabile.
wow 60 eps…so how long will this filming be? anyway i’m happy for our resident actress/Goddess getting to work in China, the next money making industry. SM sniffing out the greens like a pitbull. it’s the perfect opportunity too for Yoona and C-Sones to get closer since she’s very loved over there. hwaiting Yoona!

I would imagine that she has some time to really brush up on her Mandarin so that she can at least pronounce things properly and believably. She is a great actress, she can do it!

Yay! I was addicted to Dynasty Warriors when I was a kid. I always used Zhao Yun , and then Liu Bei when he was unlocked. Woohoo! All these familiar names from my childhood + Yoona starring in it… Will definitely watch out for Eng subbed EPs. :)

I was wondering the same thing too. What happen to the movie yoona should be in? I thought she should be shooting right now. But yet next month she gonna be busy with the chinese drama.

What happen to Goodbye Ani?? If it wasn’t for that she will be casted in nodame cantabile. If they are not going to make that movie they should have just let her act in nodame..
