Girls’ Generation’s fifth Japanese single, “Oh!”, and “Girls’ Generation Complete Video Collection” have been certified “Gold” by the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
Both “Oh!” and the “Girls’ Generation Complete Video Collection” DVD set have sold more than 100,000 copies each, earning the “Gold” certification by RIAJ. The accomplishment comes only two weeks after the single and DVD were released on September 26th, adding to the growing list of accolades Girls’ Generation has received in Japan.
Girls’ Generation will look to continue the success with their next Japanese single, “FLOWER POWER“, releasing on November 14th, and their second Japanese album on November 28th.

but to clarify things…
RIAJ Certification for physical releases (Albums, Singles, DVDs) are based on SHIPMENT to stores.
Oricon/Soundscan numbers are the actual SALES to consumers.
this is why there are news that say XYZ group received RIAJ certification (gold or 100,000) for a certain release on a certain date, and then later on another news that say XYZ group reached actual sales in certification (i.e. 100,999) based on Oricon charts.
I am so glad that Girls’ Generation is extremely popular in Japan. I am looking forward to their Japanese and American activities in the coming months. And I especially am looking forward to their new Japanese single and album as well as their big American debut next year. I know that the girls will do their best to stay healthy while being busy for the rest of this year as well as next year, so I won’t be worrying about the nine girls too much

I am very excited that the girls are still havin such success with a remake of one of their Korean classics! It might also have to do with how good the featured ballad is! That song is so good for a supporting track! It could be its own single! But this leaves good momentum for the upcoming promotions, which should be even better!!!

this is just too freaking awesome, the girls just keep growing more and more in their popularity in Japan. i’m so freaking proud of them and of the Sones who are able to buy and support the girls’ hard work. next we’re going to read that they’re certified for another RIAJ for their Flower Power single and their 2nd Japan album plus platinum then double platinum and then triple platinum and then certified a million later on in 2013. SNSD is too darn good of a entertainer group and so hard working and inspiring, so a lot of people are willing to support them, especially Sones.
