On October 13th, the Hallyu convention “KCON 2012” was held in Irvine, California in the United States. The convention featured several booths and attractions, including a panel which gave a preview of “Cobu 3D”, an upcoming movie starring BoA, Girls’ Generation’s senior and labelmate from SM Entertainment. The movie will center around two dancers, Aya, played by BoA, and Donny, played by Derek Hough.
During “KCON 2012”, the “Cobu 3D” panel played several songs from the movie’s soundtrack, including two songs featuring members of Girls’ Generation. The first song, “Cheap Creeper”, is a fast English track with several lines of rap from several different members. The second, “Say Yes”, is another fast-paced English dance track sung by Jessica, f(x)’s Krystal, and EXO-M’s Kris.
The release date for the “Cobu 3D” soundtrack has yet to be announced. Stay tuned to Soshified for more information on Girls’ Generation’s tracks for the “Cobu 3D” soundtrack.

I am loving all these separate projects! It’s like they’re teasing us by showing off their talents individually. It just makes me really excited for their comeback, when they can bring all these talents together for one extravagant tune!

No, it’s a different song. It’s in English and it’s very different from SNSD style. The song is sung by Jessica, Krystal f(x), Kris. Check it out!
maybe because the audio is bad, but cheap creeper doesn’t sound good. Whoever it is that sings/raps at about 40-47 seconds into the song sounds terrible. They need to sing some good ballads in English like the Japanese ballads they’ve done.
Ya, I feel that cheap creeper isn’t so nice (in my opinion) too. And I agree that they should sing some English ballad songs like those they have done. Those ballads are awesome and I hope they stand out from mainstream American music!! That’s definitely a challenge.
with this style of music i definitely think that our Soshi will do very well in America and Europe. people will be able to understand and can sing along with the girls. i love these girls so freaking much that i’m willing to support whatever they choose to do. this is just the beginning of something incredible that’s going to happen in 2013. SNSD are going to show the world something special and make a whole lot of people fall more in love with them. i can’t wait to snag this soundtrack off store shelves. i wonder which song the producers are going to pick for the title. i sure wouldn’t mind if they either pick Cheap Creeper or Say Yes. I am glad that the girls’ songs will be on the soundtrack to the “Cobu 3D” soundtrack because i’m sure that everyone will love the songs while listening to them, in full of course. I have listened to previews of both songs and I have to say that the songs sound so amazing, especially Jessica’s song, “Say Yes” with her sister, f(x)’s Krystal and EXO-M member Kris. I definitely can’t wait for Girls’ Generation’s American debut album to come out next year. I am extra convinced that Girls’ Generation will make a much bigger impact on the American music scene no matter where their album and single rank on the charts. And oh yeah, i’m still patiently waiting for the nine girls to make a Korean comeback before they go on to start doing their Japanese and American activities
I really the like sound and beat of “Say Yes” and “Cheap Creeper” was pretty good itself.
I think if Girls’ Generation promote songs that sound like this in their next English album, they might make a bigger impact.
As a person who lives in the States, these songs sound similar to the mainstream music that I hear 24/7 on the radio.

I find your comment very interesting! One of the challenges that I think Girls’ Generation will face in the future is finding a balance between appealing to a wider audience while still catering to the international fans who first became their fans searching for something different from the “mainstream”. By performing songs which are closer to the traditional American pop, how will they keep from alienating those who were looking for something different? I look forward to seeing how they’ll tackle this. :D
As much as I want them to find success out here(US), I agree with bhost909, it will be a task for them to make music that will appeal to the US music market while still keeping the fans that listened to them before. If their new English comeback sounds anything like “Cheap Creeper” and “Say Yes” then they have a shot. They just need to remember to not stray away from who they really are as artists. Maybe they could talk to BoA, who has had 2 English albums put out. I can’t wait for their English album, but I don’t want them to conform too much to the American music market.

I listened to Say Yes and then Cheap Creeper again while reading the lyrics and who was singing. Say Yes sound ok, kind of a darker type song.
Cheap Creeper is definitely more interesting when you know who is singing and exactly what words they are saying (it goes so fast it’s kind of hard to tell – I don’t think it’s because their english is bad). Sooyoung’s english is interesting. Yoona’s english is really, really different, not what I expected at all. Can’t wait to hear the entire song in high quality.
Hmmm, listened to the cruddy quality of Cheap Creeper. I know it’s a movie song but “Cheap Creeeper”? Kind of a goofy song title and chorus, but it’s our girls so of course I love it anyway.

The quality of the video recorded from the event are terrible so at the moment I really don’t like either song. They barely sound English to me and that’s the only language I speak. I think once having a better quality out will make it a lot better. It does have it potential if only the recordings were better. I’m glad they are singing more English now! I can’t wait for their full English album and tour here in America. I really want to go! I don’t want to go to their concerts that are with other artists. Jiguemen Sonyeo Shidae! the song’s pretty good. Just listened to it just then. Jeti’s voices <3 I'm not so sure who did the rap parts but it kind of sound of Sunny and Yuri :S :S The beginning though sounded like some other girl group but its still a good song, well I like it :D
