Hyoyeon Says, “Sometimes I Disguise Myself When I Go Out.”

In a recent magazine interview, Hyoyeon was asked about whether or not the members of Girls’ Generation are ever able to go out in public to relax. She responded, “It’s difficult for us because we have become so famous. No matter where we go in Korea, people recognize us.” Hyoyeon said that, while they are grateful for everything they have and that the fans are always polite, sometimes they wish to just go shopping together like normal people without drawing any attention.

Hyoyeon then said that if they disguise themselves, they are sometimes able to avoid being noticed in public. She continued, “I’ve become the best at being able to disguise myself. I’m just more creative than the other members at hiding my face so that people on the street don’t recognize me.” After being asked about her creative methods of disguising herself, Hyoyeon explained, “It’s actually better not to wear a hat. If you wear a hat, people are more inclined to think that you’re trying to hide your face, and they’ll become more suspicious instead of less suspicious.”

Hyoyeon finished her lesson on celebrity disguises by saying, “I find that the best way to avoid being noticed is just to dress very casually and to wear large glasses that change the way your face looks. It worked for Superman when he posed as Clark Kent, and it works for me, too!”
